A MAN who used derogatory remarks about his ex has been banned from any contact with her for five years.
Christopher Kelly previously pleaded guilty to making a phone call and repeatedly uttering the insulting comments on February 17 this year.
The 44-year-old, of Amochrie Road, Paisley, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on July 23 for sentencing as the abuse of a partner or ex happened within its jurisdiction.
His ex was said to be "very upset" by the calls from Kelly.
Defence solicitor Brian McGuire told the court: "I think a reasonable person viewing this relationship would see it was doomed to failure and that eems to be a view he has taken.
"He has no desire to rekindle a relationship."
Sheriff William Gallacher said: "You will give back to the community in general rather than the individual."
He put Kelly under social work supervision for a year and he must also do 140 hours of unpaid work in the community in that time.
The sheriff added it was to "make sure this matter is the last time you darken the doors of this court".
A non-harassment order preventing any contact whatsoever with the woman was imposed for five years.
