Support and information will be available to young people across West Dunbartonshire on SQA results day.

Nearly 145,000 learners nationwide will receive results of their SQA Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, National Progression Awards, Skills for Work Awards, National Certificates and Awards on Tuesday, August 6.

SQA will open its Candidate Advice Line at 8am and close at 6pm to allow learners to clarify any questions about their certificates.

The line can be reached on 0345 279 1000.

In addition, students can consult dedicated careers advisors on the Skills Development Scotland Helpline at 0808 100 8000 regarding their next steps.

The free appeals SQA service opens at 9am on August 6.

More information is available online at www.sqa.org.uk/results.

SQA is also offering the chance for some learners to see their marked exam papers, limited to five subjects, which can assist their decision to appeal.

Alastair McKenzie, liaison manager for West Dunbartonshire at SQA, said: “Candidates with concerns about their National 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher grades can appeal their grade for free.

“I would encourage anyone considering an appeal to speak to their teacher or lecturer and discuss their options with them first.

“Candidates should also look out for the ‘Your Results’ guide which will be included alongside their Scottish Qualifications Certificate on Tuesday."

“It can also be viewed now online at www.sqa.org.uk/results.

“In it there is useful information about how their exams and coursework have been marked, how their grades have been decided, deadlines for appeals, and what to do if they have any questions about their results.”

The Scottish Qualifications Certificate will reach candidates by first-class post at their home address, and learners who activated a MySQA account will also get results via text and/or email on the same morning.

If the certificate goes missing in the post, their school, college, or training provider can give them their results and liaise with SQA.
