A search is underway for the owner of a parrot who was rescued from an area in Clydebank last week.

The grey parrot was found next to the canal path in the Linnvale area (G81) on Thursday, August 1.

The Scottish SPCA has made an appeal on social media for anyone with relevant information to get in contact.

This was posted last Friday (August 2) and as of today no one has come forward.

He was found saying ‘good morning’ and the name ‘Alfie'.

Since its rescue, the bird has been moved to the Dumbarton SPCA centre on Dumbarton Road in Milton.
