A Clydebank dance group have shared their "disbelief" after dancing sisters won a World Champion title at the Dance World Cup in Prague.

Chloe and Emily MacDuff, aged 13 and 12 respectively, are celebrating their win after taking titles in the Czech Republic in July.

After being selected as part of 19 dancers from the Hunter School of Dance to join Team Scotland, they spent 10 days competing with their teammates against 10,000 dancers from 60 countries across the globe.

The competition is held in a different city each year and this year was hosted from June 27 to July 7.

The sisters were awarded first place for their Showdance duet winning the title Children’s Showdance Duet World Champions.

Dance teacher Deborah Hunter Mills describes the "mind-blowing" moment her pupils won the coveted title.

She said: "It was such a surreal moment. As a teacher, I was backstage with them and they called their names and I couldn’t even move, I was open-mouthed and just unable to believe it, to go against over 60 countries and tens of thousands of dancers, it was crazy.

"What they have done is on another level and I am still in disbelief even talking about it. It was such a special moment for them as sisters. It's an incredible achievement.

"Coming back home with multiple medallists including two world champions was just mind-blowing."

However, the sisters became all the more ecstatic when they realised 'Dance Moms' icon Abby Lee Miller was one of the judges on the awarding panel.

She said: "The girls were delighted to win the award but they were much more excited when they saw that she was one of the people who awarded them it.

"They are such hard-working girls, all my pupils are and I am just so pleased it paid off for them, they worked so hard in the lead-up to it. They have such a gruelling training schedule but they didn’t bat an eyelid they just got on with it."

The dance school also took home a bronze in their tap group dance and two silver medalists in the acrobat's section.
