The Aurora Borealis and a Perseid Meteor Shower lit up the sky over Scotland last night and our camera club members snapped some stunning shots over Clydebank.

Skies were pictured shimmering with beams of purple, blue and green last night as the Northern Lights descended.

The Met Office Space Weather forecast predicted a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) arriving at Earth around 1300UTC on Saturday, August 10 leading to minor to moderate geomagnetic storms and the Northern Lights being visible across the UK over the weekend.

Camera club member Claire Wright was out at Boquhanran Park at Kilbowie where she captured the lights shining over Clydebank homes.
