A man who spat at a bus driver has been ordered to pay them compensation.
David Kelly, of Grogarry Road, Drumchapel, previously pleaded guilty to assaulting the driver and spitting at them while at a Kilbowie Road bus stop in Clydebank.
The incident, now three years old, took place on February 19, 2021, when the 44-year-old boarded the bus and was asked for his fare.
He refused and the driver asked him to get off. He then spat towards them and that landed on the Perspex barrier. Police later arrested him.
Defence solicitor Scott Adair said it was an "entirely unpleasant incident and he understands that it's not his normal sort of behaviour".
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said: "I'm not going to send you to prison for this. But I could. And it's the sort of behaviour that absolutely nobody should have to tolerate. It's disgusting."
He imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision by social workers. Kelly will also be tagged and must stay at home between 7pm and 7am for four months.
The bus driver will be paid £250 in compensation.
