A LOCAL food bank has issued an urgent appeal to replenish its stock.
The team at Drumchapel Food Bank say they are in need of a variety of different items after a busy summer period.
Launching 13 years ago, the charity has been a lifeline for those struggling in the area.
Ryan McGeady, volunteer coordinator and project manager of the service, opened up on the importance of the new appeal.
"We are making a big drive for food donations because they have been slowing down," he said.
"We were very lucky to get funding last year to help us out but that money tends to dwindle so we are looking for help while we make applications for financial support this time around.
"We have been putting out appeals via Facebook which has been an effective mechanism for promotion in the past.
"This appeal is due in part to the rise in clients using the service."

The school summer holidays is always a busy time for Drumchapel Food Bank.
This year put a particular dent in the charity's resources leading to them putting out a call for tinned goods, pasta, rice, sauces, toiletries and nappies among the things that are needed most.
"We had a lot of families coming to us looking for help with that extra meal due in part to kids not getting a school lunch during this time period," he continued.
"The biggest family we supported during this time period was a group of 10.
"The summer is understandably always a huge drain on our resources and we always pride ourselves on coming through these tough times.
"However, we do not want to get to the stage where we are having to reduce the amount of food we are putting out.
"We are proud of what we offer as an independent charity."
