A MAN branded "his own worst enemy" by his lawyer has been put under a curfew for three months.

William Mitchell will have to stay at his home in Castleview, Clydebank, every night from 7pm to 7am after breaching an existing court order.

The 25-year-old previously admitted to acting in an aggressive and abusive manner and shouting through a letter box, placing a woman in a state of fear and alarm for her safety.

He also uttered threats of violence towards the police in the incident on June 5, 2022 at a property inn Crown Avenue, Clydebank.

At Dumbarton Sheriff Court on August 30, defence solicitor Brian Lanigan said his client had previously been given a community payback order (CPO) with social work supervision and 120 hours of unpaid work. There were still hours to complete.

He admitted being in breach of that CPO.

He said: "He is his own worst enemy."

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry revoked the existing CPO and imposed a new one with a year of supervision.

He will also be tagged and must remain at home from 7pm to 7am for three months.

The sheriff said: "I expect you to take the help that's offered to you. I will monitor your progress.

"This is your last chance effectively."

There will be a review of his CPO in October.
