THE nominations are now open for the Valuing Involvement and Volunteering Achievements (VIVA) 2024.

Organised by the West Dunbartonshire CVS, the third sector support agency will celebrate the unique contribution volunteers make across the authority.

Local organisations are encouraged to send their submissions.

The categories include Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Manager of the Year, Organisation of the Year, and Volunteer Unsung Hero.

WDCVS volunteer centre coordinator, Kathleen McCulloch said “Volunteering is a key, but often under-recognised, social bond supporting the communities of West Dunbartonshire.

"Volunteers provide essential services, willingly giving their time and skills for no financial reward and we think it’s more important than ever to celebrate their contribution.

"Whatever you do and wherever you go, it’s likely you will come into contact with a volunteer at some point in your day – though you may not realise it”.

Submissions will be assessed by an independent judging panel, with three individuals or organisations shortlisted in each category with the Awards Ceremony taking place on December 5 at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel.

Nomination forms are available on the WDCVS website or by calling 0141 941 0886, and nominations can be made until October, 11, 2024.
