West Dunbartonshire's dedicated volunteers will soon be honoured.

The VIVA (Valuing Involvement and Volunteering Achievements) awards, organised by West Dunbartonshire CVS will celebrate the unique contribution volunteers make across the local authority.

Organisations are encouraged to nominate in categories including Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Manager of the Year, Organisation of the Year, and Volunteer Unsung Hero.

Kathleen McCulloch, WDCVS Volunteer Centre Coordinator, said: "Volunteering is a key, but often under-recognised, social bond supporting the communities of West Dunbartonshire.

"Volunteers provide essential services, willingly giving their time and skills for no financial reward and we think it’s more important than ever to celebrate their contribution.

"Whatever you do and wherever you go, it’s likely you will come into contact with a volunteer at some point in your day – though you may not realise it."
