Visitors to a community garden will soon have access to a toilet.
Growing Beardmore, the community organisation that maintains the garden in Dalmuir, will be able to install a sustainable toilet thanks to a successful lottery grant.
The group was awarded £2,310 in funding after an application was made with the help of Link Housing's tenant engagement team.
The money will be used to install a toilet at the garden to help "protect visitors’ dignity and comfort" during their time at the garden.
Rose Dorman, Growing Beardmore’s chair, said: "We are absolutely delighted our application is successful.
"We want to encourage more primary school children to visit the beautiful garden, so having facilities for them to use if they are caught short is essential.
"The fact that the toilet is also sustainable is a huge bonus.
"I would like to thank Link’s tenant engagement team who provided invaluable assistance with our application."
Colin Cassie, Link Housing tenant engagement manager, said: “We are always happy to help our tenants and community groups to serve their areas.
"Growing Beardmore is an excellent example of like-minded people coming together to improve where they live.
"It’s great to see the garden thriving, and I am sure the environmentally friendly toilet will help the community garden continue flourishing."
