Proposals to create a new activity centre in Clydebank were approved at a council meeting this week.
At the West Dunbartonshire Council planning committee on Wednesday, September 11, councillors voted to grant permission for the plans which would incorporate recreational and educational activities.
The centre is to be developed on the bank of the Forth and Clyde Canal and the NCR 7 cycle route south of the Clyde Shopping Centre.
The site will offer a community hub, a bicycle workshop, yoga and cooking classes.
The application was delayed by two months down to a relevant officer missing the first meeting in June and the applicant being unable to attend the second meeting in August.
The proposal is said to provide a high quality, community focused activity centre which could contribute to a mix of uses and the vitality of the town centre as well as helping connect people to the canal.
