A YOKER woman has appealed for help after her car was deliberately set on fire.

Christine Hepburn awoke in the early hours of Sunday, September 15 to find her yellow Nissan Juke ablaze outside her home.

No one was injured during the incident which occurred at around 3.20am in the Dumbarton Road area of the town.

Police Scotland is treating the incident as wilful and Christine is appealing for anyone to come forward with information.

"I was at mum's house with my kids during the evening and arrived home and parked the car outside my home at around 10.20pm," she said.

"I was then awoken at around 3.20am by a neighbour to tell me my car was on fire.

"The police and fire brigade arrived not long after but things have not progressed since.

"I am appealing for an eyewitness or potentially someone with dashcam footage to help out.

"I live beside a busy road so I am convinced someone must have seen something."

(Image: Newsquest) A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.25am on Sunday, September 15, 2024, we were called to a report of a car on fire in Dumbarton Road, Yoker.

"Officers attended and assisted Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.  There were no reports of any injuries.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
