A woman has said 'yes' after her now fiancé organised a flash mob with their dance troop so he could pop the question.
Jake Burges, 25, today proposed to his girlfriend, Jodie Brand, 24, after meeting at their weekly dance class two years ago.
The Adult Additional Support Needs (ASN) class run by April's Street Feet got together to create a dance routine to a mash-up of Just The Way You Are and Marry You by Bruno Mars.
After their last practice in the studio in Dalmuir, Clydebank, Jake brought Jodie into the hall for "a surprise" as the rest of the dancers set themselves up.
As Jodie entered she sat on a chair at the front as the music began and the class started their performance.
She looked visibly emotional as the class formed partners and rocked to the beat before creating a corridor for Jodie to walk down and meet Jake.
He got down on one knee, overwhelmed with emotion, and asked her to marry him.
The room erupted as Jodie nodded her head and the ring was placed on her finger.
At the beginning of the year, Jake who from Anniesland first went to dance teacher April asking her to help with the performance.
He explained how much he loved the class and how it felt like a 'safe' space for him, which is why he chose it for the big day.
Jake said: “Jodie and I have been best friends for three years and we have been together as a couple for two years. I thought I would like to do the proposal flashmob in April's Street Feet dance studio because it’s a safe place and I feel confident and comfortable to be free in dance.
"I wanted to ask April and my friends at the Wednesday morning group to help me with the proposal dance. I wanted to share the secret with my dance teacher April because she is the best dance teacher.”
As the couple were coming down from the excitement Jodie whose from Vale of Leven said she felt 'emotional' at the proposal.
She added: "I'm just taking it all in."
April was also emotional as she shared her delight at finding out Jake wanted to do this.
She said: "When Jake came to me and told me, I was absolutely buzzing. It made me feel so special that he feels the safest here.
"They are always the 'wee couple' in the class and they always partner up with each other.
"This class just lights them up."
April's ASN class has grown from just seven students when it started to 40 - some of which travel from Edinburgh and Falkirk to attend.
