More than 100 Girlguiding leaders from across Scotland gathered in Clydebank for a training weekend.

The One Team event saw 145 volunteers with key roles in their county teams flock to the Golden Jubilee Hotel for an overnight stay earlier this month.

The weekend was filled with various workshops and provided an opportunity for networking among volunteers from across the country.

It also served as a fundraiser for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire's Catterburn site after the Brownie House suffered a devastating flood last year.

A tombola at the event raised £220 towards launching a new Catterburn Activity Centre.

Girlguiding Dunbartonshire is looking for more volunteers to keep its units running.

Janice Blair, leader of the 6th Clydebank Guides and lead volunteer for volunteer experience at Girlguiding Scotland, said: "The One Team event was an amazing opportunity for our volunteers to network, share and learn from each other.

“There was a buzz about the whole weekend and it was fantastic to see the impact it makes with all our volunteers, which, in turn, means our girls get great opportunities too.

"And being able to host it in my hometown was extra special."

Denise Spence, chief executive officer of Girlguiding Scotland, said: “One Team is our flagship national training and networking event, bringing together specialist volunteers from across Scotland and we were delighted to hold it in Clydebank again.

"Our volunteers give their time and talent to support girls and young women throughout Scotland to raise their aspirations and fulfil their potential.

“Guiding thrives in Clydebank and we are grateful for all the community support.”
