A PERVERT sexually abused an eight-year-old girl while they played on an Xbox.

John McCann, 41, repeatedly preyed on his victim at various properties.

McCann - who suffers from multiple sclerosis - initially got the girl to perform sex acts on him from the age of five.

He then went on to touch the girl and placed his body on top of her's while they played on the gaming console on a bed.

McCann, of Drumchapel, pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour on the girl.

McCann also admitted sexually assaulting the girl.

The court heard that McCann knew the girl. He first struck when he was alone with the girl who was five years old at the time.

Prosecutor Lauren Sangray stated that McCann "tickled" the girl on the shoulder and neck.

He then told her to unbutton his trousers and made reference to a "lolly pop".

McCann made the girl perform a sex act on him "six to eight times."

The hearing was told that McCann went on to tickle the girl on the body and lay on top of her.

McCann also played Xbox with the girl, aged eight, while they were in a bed together.

He tickled her again then placed his body on her while she was face down on the bed.

The girl later told adults what had happened to her and McCann was quizzed but he said he had "nothing to hide."

He told a social worker that he had sexually abused the girl which resulted in police involvement.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming.

McCann - who uses a walking aid - was remanded in custody and put on the sex offenders register meantime.
