A man has been arrested following the discovery of a suspect item in Clydebank.
The item was found when officers were searching the property in Overtoun Court on Dunswin Avenue as part of another ongoing investigation.
A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged firearms offence.
He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
A cordon was put in place and several properties were evacuated as a precaution.
EOD personnel attended and carried out a controlled explosion on the device.
Around 2.30am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, it was safe for local residents to return to their homes.

Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing.
Chief Superintendent Gary I'Anson, Divisional Commander for Argyll & West Dunbartonshire said: "I would like to extend my thanks again to the local community for their patience as we dealt with this incident.
"I understand the inconvenience it will have caused and I am grateful for your cooperation."
