The date of the hustings for the upcoming Kilpatrick by-election has been confirmed.

Organised by the Clydebank Trade Union Council, the event takes place on Tuesday, November 19 at 7pm in the Hub Community Centre on Kilbowie Road.

Eight party candidates will contest the vote.

Reform UK, Scottish Family Party and the Communist Party of Britain have all confirmed their candidates' attendance at the hustings.

The by-election was called after the previous councillor, Douglas McAllister, was elected as the MP for West Dunbartonshire in the recent general election.

The successful candidate will join the two other councillors who represent this ward; councillor Lawrence O'Neill and councillor Gordon Scanlan.
