JAMES McAvoy has been pictured on the set of his new film in Glasgow as he makes his directorial debut.
The Drumchapel-born actor is currently in the city filming for California Schemin' which centres around Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd who are fed up of London record producers not taking Scottish rap seriously and dismissing them as "rapping Proclaimers".
Filming takes place between November 6 and 20 at locations including Maryhill, Park Circus, Glasgow Green and The Barras Market.
McAvoy was pictured today at Glasgow Green this afternoon, near where a new Trainspotting-inspired mural has also been unveiled.
The mural depicts Ewan McGregor's character Renton and his famous line "It's s**** being Scottish" and is being used in background scenes.
McAvoy was spotted filming at the Barras on Monday, November 11.
McAvoy announced a free noughties-themed gig will take place at the Barrowlands Ballroom on November 21 as part of filming for California Schemin'.
The gig is completely free to attend but guests have to register for a ticket.
