A cinema in Clydebank has announced a major change to one of its screens.

Screen five at the Omniplex Cinema in the Clyde Shopping Centre has undergone some major transformation works to revamp the space.

Teasing the works earlier this week on Facebook the cinema posted: "Some big changes at Clydebank. Not long before we bring something new to our cinema. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for more news."

The cinema posted photos of some new lighting, planks of wood lying around and plastic-covered seats.

Last night, they revealed the cinema's first MAXX screen with a completely refurbed seating area.

Brand new red recliners cover eight rows each with an adjustable table.

At the front of the room is four two-seater sofa beds with cushions.

The cinema also announced improvements to the speakers calling it 'the best sound systems your hears will ever hear.'

Booking for Screen Five opened today, November 15.

Residents have shared their excitement at the new screen calling it 'cracking'.

One wrote: "Looks great; visited recently with kids and been an all-round hit. As comfy as those sofa chairs look though I'd be asleep within 5 minutes"

Another said: "Thank you for investing your time and money in improving our wee toon. It must be difficult to keep moving forward and post updates with a lot of negative feedback, especially with the monumental task you’ve had trying to bring the old cinema back to life."

A third commented: "Cannot wait to try this bad boy out!"
