Clydebank Musical Society (CMS) returned to the stage in style with two sell-out productions of 'Matilda'.
Talented performers from the group's mini section have worked tirelessly for months to stage their own version of the popular musical which is based on the book of the same name by Roald Dahl and tells the story of a gifted girl forced to put up with a difficult family and school life.
Kevin Rodgers, chairman of CMS, opened up on the effort involved in putting on the performances.
He said: "The productions were a real success and the kids performed for almost 700 people across the two nights which is amazing.
"The minis were added to the Clydebank Musical Society’s portfolio post-covid so we have been building up to this first-ever production for this age group for a while.
"The kids taking part were aged between nine and 12 and we had of 43 cast members overall.
"It was stressful but also such a rewarding experience."
The performances took place on November 12 and 13 in the Denny Civic Theatre in Dumbarton.
Several members of CMS were making their debuts in management positions with Gillian Stewart directing, Iona McHugh in charge of choreography and Anna Haddock overseeing the musical direction of the performances.
Kevin praised the effort that both the children and parents put in during the build-up.

He continued: "The audition process was a real success and it was amazing to see so many talented performers on display.
"There was a lot of effort put in to the rehearsals and it really paid off.
"The whole process from start to finish lasted 14 weeks and the feedback has been really positive which is amazing to hear.
"I am so proud of the kids and adults who helped with the production"
Kevin was also keen to point out that the productions were very much a team effort.
He added: "The whole ethos of the group was take kids off the street and give them something to do along with helping to develop life skills and we teach that across all age groups.
"We did the performances in the Denny Civic Theatre in Dumbarton as it is a smaller stage than Clydebank Hall, where we would usually perform, to try and keep the kids as relaxed as possible.
"I was so impressed with how they dealt with the new environment and the professional way they carried themselves"
