A cinema in Clydebank has teased further refurbishments which will create a new lounge area and introduce a food truck.
Omniplex Cinema in the Clyde Shopping Centre has been undergoing renovations since it was taken over in December last year.
Paul John, director of the company, says more is set to come with big changes to the dining area.
Speaking to the Post, he said: "We’ve converted eight of the 10 screens which we finished in May. The two largest screens we have converted into an Omniplex Maxx which is a wall-to-wall screen.
"The rooms have 38 speakers dotted around the room, in the ceiling, on the walls, on the screen which creates a 3D sound that's really advanced.
"We'll be converting the dining area into a lounge and we will be offering hot food in a truck called Joe's where you can buy pizzas by the slice.
"Hopefully, we will have alcohol too, draught beers and wine as well as other hot foods like chicken burgers which can be taken into the movie screens.
"You’ll be able to order from your seats in the Maxx screens and to the lounge area through QR codes."
Photos from the recently transformed Wigan Omniplex give residents a sneak peek of what the Clydebank branch will look like.
The cinema screen renovations will be completed when the latest Maxx screen opens this Friday, November 29.
However, the renovations will pause over the beginning of next year and restart around summertime in order for the dining area refurbishment to be completed by this time next year.
Paul says he is delighted to invest in the town and has had great feedback from movie-goers after marking their busiest day yet last Friday with the release of blockbusters such as Gladiators 2, Wicked and Paddington 3.
He added: "We are delighted to invest in Clydebank and everyone has been very supportive. We have seen an increase in numbers, I think people are staying more local.
"We want to build the cinema and continue to grow and make it a really top-notch cinema offering.
"Our customers in Clydebank will start to see changes over the coming months. It's not going to happen overnight, because it's complicated and difficult to do, but it will be happening over the next six to nine months."
