IT was full steam ahead as pupils from a Clydebank high school transformed a car into a popular children’s character.
Youngsters from Kilpatrick High, a local additional support needs school, recently visited the motor vehicle department at West College Scotland’s Clydebank campus to complete the project.
The initiative, which has been running for several years now, challenges groups to select a theme that captures their imagination.
In previous years, pupils have produced final transformations of a Batmobile car and a Star Wars-themed car.
This year, the group was asked to choose their favourite childhood locomotive - and Thomas the Tank Engine came out on top.
With the assistance of former lecturer Jeff Cairns and Anthony Canavan, a technician and lecturer at the college, the project was brought to life.
Mr Canavan said: “A huge well done to the students of Kilpatrick School in completing their Thomas the Tank Engine project within the motor vehicle department.
“Their creativity and efforts have paid off and I believe the end result shows how much they have put into it.”
