I was privileged to attend the Blitz memorial service at Kilbowie St Andrew's Church.
It was a truly moving service.
I was amazed at the turnout, but then again I shouldn't have been, they were Bankies after all.
The most poignant moment for me came after the service when I was approached by a little old lady who asked me if I was Joe and she said: "That was my pram you were in". Her mother had given my mother her old pram. That pram saved my life!
I would like to give a special thanks to Tom McCormack who filled in a few gaps in my family history. Fount of knowledge.
