A recent newspaper showed the fines that different councils were imposing on dog owners that did not pick up after their fouled in grass areas and pavements.
I'm afraid it is not pretty reading.
The councils do not, under the 2003 Dog Fouling Act (Scotland), seem to be applying this act hard enough. West Dunbartonshire Council is an example.
I, as a resident of Clydebank, have been fighting this scouge for a number of years.
I know there are responsible people who pick after their dogs, it is irresponsible people who don't pick up after their dogs that I would like to be named and fined.
I have yet to see anybody fined in West Dunbartonshire.
