CLYDEBANK Primary School Clydemuir were the envy of the region as they claimed gold in the West Dunbartonshire School Games P6 Rugby Final last month.
The event was hosted by Clydebank Rugby Club and jointly organised by the club and Active Schools.
The final was well attended, with over 50 parents and over 30 additional children coming along to support their teams.
The final results saw Clydemuir claim victory, with a total of 13 points after winning 3 matches and drawing 2.
Laura Preston, Active School Coordinator, commented: “Clydebank Rugby Club hosted the event superbly, with light refreshments on offer as well as a fun inflatable game for people to try their hand at.
“We are grateful to CRFC for allowing us to use their fantastic facilities and providing top quality coaching and refereeing on the night, and as always enjoy working closely with such a professional club environment.
“On the night, the standard of play was excellent and the pupils had lots of fun getting involved in a wrestling warm up and playing five matches each, so there was plenty of game play for everyone to get involved with.”
The final scores were: 1st – Clydemuir – 13 points 2nd – Jamestown – 12 points (second place based on try difference) 3rd – Knoxland – 12 points 4th – Braehead – 11 points 5th – Gartocharn – 7 points 6th – St Marys – 5 points
