Scotland raised the curtain on Gregor Townsend’s tenure as head coach with a convincing victory over Italy in Singapore with 11 Glasgow Warriors players contributing.
Warriors’ Ali Price scored his first ever international try and Finn Russell caught the eye with a creative stand-off performance as the Scots ran away 34-13 victors in the former Scotstoun chief’s first game in charge.
Ryan Wilson was a late inclusion in the starting line-up, joining Tim Swinson in the pack while Alex Dunbar was the fifth Glasgow name on the starting team sheet.
Zander Fagerson carried impressively off the bench and Fraser Brown continued his good form into the off season.
Rob Harley, Henry Pyrgos and Pete Horne all had an effective half an hour off the bench and Rory Hughes, a last minute call up to the replacements, made his third appearance for his country.
Meanwhile Glasgow winger Leonardo Sarto started for the Italians.
