Yoker co-manager Tommy Montgomery insists the 5-2 scoreline in their loss to Shotts Bon Accord wasn’t a true reflection of the match.
The Whe Ho were looking to build on last week’s emphatic 6-1 win over Royal Albert but defensive lapses and mistakes cost them as the Bonny made the most of their chances at Holm Park.
Jamie Waddell, also on target against the Albert, hauled Yoker level but sloppy errors either side of the break saw the visitors run away with it before adding another two late on.
“That was a disappointing one,” Montgomery told the Post. “We were hoping that we could carry a wee bit of momentum into this one but individual errors cost us.

“Jamie Waddell got a good goal to get us back into it after going behind early. He was causing them real problems but we lost a second goal from a counter attack just before the break. It was a good game at that point and Shotts are a good side but it was more errors that cost us after the break.
“I don’t think that score was an accurate reflection of the game. We’re just getting punished for silly mistakes at the moment.”
It doesn’t get any easier for the Whe Ho this weekend as they welcome league leaders Gartcairn to Holm Park.
Montgomery added: “Anything against the leaders is a bonus, but our season is defined with the next four games after that.”
