A Drumchapel Taekwondo club has achieved success on the European stage.

The group attended the International Taekwondo Federation Union European Open Championships.

It took place across the weekend of October 25-27 in London.

FORCE Taekwon-do has two competitors at the competition.

Ethan Coyle, 13, was crowned Vice European Champion for patterns and sparring.

Louis Burke, 12, became European Champion for sparring.

It comes after the club previously had success at the T-UK British Championships last month.

Ethan Donnelly, founder and instructor of the group, opened up on the work the two boys have been put in.

He said: "I’m extremely proud of both boys and how far they have came on their competition journey.

"The club is only three-years-old and we have much bigger things to come.

"Both Louis and Ethan have put the work in, training up to five times per week and deserved their wins.

"I always say to my students you win the medals in class, you go to the competition and pick them up.

"That’s certainly what they did."

Ethan also detailed the role parents play in making the club a success.

He continued: "The parents are very supportive of their kids. They want the best for them and want them to achieve their full potential.

"They put their full faith in me and I'm extremely grateful for the support they give me and the club.

"They travel the length and breadth of the country and beyond taking these kids to competitions."
